About
South of Ankara, Lake Eymir is a peaceful nature area surrounded by cycling and walking paths, where the capital's residents meet nature. Away from the city's noise, it is a popular escape where water, greenery and clean air come together. The roughly 10-kilometre cycling and running track around the lake is a favourite of those who want to exercise in nature; the paths stretching in the shade of willow trees offer a different beauty in all four seasons. The lakeside cafés and picnic areas are ideal for resting. Suitable also for birdwatching, canoeing and quiet nature walks, Eymir, with its natural structure protected by METU, is one of Ankara's most valuable green spaces; it is an ideal stop for a weekend escape and a break amid nature.
History
