About
South of Çanakkale, Troy is the legendary city immortalised in Homer's Iliad, where mythology and archaeology intersect. Known to the whole world through the story of the wooden horse, this ancient city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city uncovered in excavations consists of nine different settlement layers built one on top of another; each layer bears the traces of thousands of years of history and different civilisations. Walking among the walls, temple remains and ancient structures, you enter an atmosphere where reality and legend are intertwined. The giant wooden-horse replica at the entrance and the modern Troy Museum tell the city's story and finds impressively; for lovers of history and mythology, Troy is an unforgettable stop of discovery.
