Emine Göğüş Culinary Museum
A historic mansion devoted to Antep cuisine
About
Devoted to telling the story of the cuisine that earned Gaziantep its UNESCO city-of-gastronomy title, the Emine Göğüş Culinary Museum is housed in a 19th-century stone Antep mansion. With its courtyard and arches, the building is as impressive as its contents. The museum displays the recipes of hundreds of regional dishes — from baklava to kebab, from beyran to içli köfte — alongside the traditional kitchen tools used and models of the dishes. It is an ideal start for understanding the richness of Antep cuisine and the culture behind each dish. The small but carefully arranged museum shows where the city's passion for food comes from; stopping here before setting out on a gastronomy tour lets you taste Antep flavours much more knowingly.
History
A traditional 19th-century Antep house, the building was restored and opened in 2008 as one of Türkiye's first culinary museums. It takes its name from Emine Göğüş, who made a donation to the city.
