About
Looking down over Bursa, Uludağ is a natural wonder that draws visitors in all four seasons — with ski resorts in winter and cool highlands and walking trails in summer. With its summit exceeding 2,500 metres, it is an ideal escape from the heat of the plain. In winter, the hotels zone, with its slopes and cable car, becomes Türkiye's most popular ski destination, offering skiing, snowboarding and sledging on the snow. In summer, its glacial lakes, pine forests and highlands covered in colourful flowers are a paradise for camping and nature walks. The cable car (Teleferik) departing from central Bursa offers a breathtaking journey from the city to the summit; this long line turns the trip itself into a sightseeing experience.
History
Known in antiquity as "Mysian Olympus," the mountain was called "Monk's Mountain" in the Byzantine era as a place of monastic seclusion. With the rise of skiing in the 20th century, it became Türkiye's first major winter-tourism centre.
