About
Just north of Konya, Sille is a historic village that takes you on a journey through time with its stone houses, rock-cut structures and multicultural past. This settlement, where Turkish and Greek populations lived together in peace for centuries, is a living example of tolerance. The Hagia Eleni Church at the village's heart is one of the region's most important structures, with its Byzantine-era frescoes and stonework. The stone bridges along the stream, old mills and rock-cut monastery cells lend the village a fairytale atmosphere. With cafés in restored stone houses, craft shops and quiet streets, Sille offers a restful, nostalgic escape after Konya's spiritual intensity; it is a peaceful stop where history and nature are intertwined.
