About
Rising within the historic fabric of Odunpazarı with striking architecture reminiscent of stacked timber beams, OMM is an internationally significant museum that puts Eskişehir on the contemporary-art map. The building is a modern tribute to the region's wooden-house tradition. Designed by the renowned Japanese architecture office Kengo Kuma, the structure is a work of art in itself, with interiors that masterfully use natural light. The museum hosts a rich collection of contemporary works by Turkish and international artists, along with rotating exhibitions. With its architecture, exhibitions and dialogue with the historic district, OMM is a must-see stop that adds a modern, intellectual dimension to a traditional Odunpazarı visit.
History
Opened in 2019 to display the contemporary-art collection of businessman Erol Tabanca. The building's design is by the world-famous architect Kengo Kuma, referencing the woodwork-famed Odunpazarı.
